Major factors that would cause an environmental impact in the proposed project are: High voltage lines, ground disturbance due to the creation of paths, ground electrodes and underground cables, gravel pits, as well as traffic and certain other aspects regarding the construction period.
Among new things in the Initial Environmental Statement are maps that help people to see clearly how the project will increase or decrease the visibility of the transmission lines in certin areas. The blue colour indicates a decrease in visibility, while the red indicates an increase.
A lot of work has also been put into creating photomontages of the proposed project, to help people visualize the overhead transmission lines in specific areas.
The map below shows environmental changes that could take place in several areas. In some places the environmental impact will increase, while in others they will decrease. By clicking on the dots on the map you can see the changes in the relevant location.
