Landsnet has carved out a unique environmental policy when it comes to new projects, to ensure that environmental disturbances during construction are held at an absolute minimum and that the project finish will be exemplary.

To achieve this, Landsnet has set itself specific targets when it comes to new projects:

  • No environmental accidents during construction.

  • No environmental disturbances outside the delineated construction zones. Within a given construction zone, the utmost consideration shall be taken towards the biosphere.

  • No undirected release of undesirable chemicals will take place during construction.

These emphases are a part of Landsnet's tender documents with the express requirement that any consultants or contractors working for the company on the project shall also follow this environmental policy and and take care to respect the environment.  This aspect of the contract, as well as others, shall be supervised during the period of construction. The supervision will be in the hands of both Landsnet and the official authorities.

To emphasize its requirement that everything be repaired as much as possible at the end of the project, Landsnet has adopted the procedure of making a special environmental auditing at the end of each new project. Members of all major concerned partners take part in the assessment, including for example municipalities and land owners.
